Onvida Health is proud to announce that Dr. Kristina Diaz, President of Onvida Health Medical Group, has been selected as a fellow in the Carol Emmott Fellowship Class of 2025. This competitive and nationally recognized program empowers women healthcare leaders with mentorship, resources and opportunities to drive change in their organizations and communities.
“As someone who grew up in Yuma, Dr. Diaz’s recognition on a national level is a tremendous source of pride for our community,” said Dr. Robert Trenschel, President & CEO of Onvida Health. “We fully support her participation in this transformative experience, confident that the innovative ideas and strategies she gains will have a lasting impact on our patients, staff, and the entire Yuma County.”
Dr. Diaz is one of just 24 healthcare leaders selected nationwide for this fellowship, which lasts 14 months. She will work closely with leaders from top organizations throughout the country, honing her leadership skills and gaining fresh perspectives that she will bring back to Onvida Health.
“This is an incredible opportunity to learn from some of the best in healthcare,” Dr. Diaz said. “I’m excited to apply what I learn to continue improving care for our community, where I’ve had the privilege of serving for over 14 years.”
As part of her fellowship, Dr. Diaz has chosen the development of the Onvida Health San Luis Medical Campus as her impact project. Opening in winter 2026, this state-of-the-art facility will provide a full range of services tailored to the unique needs of the San Luis community. The fellowship will empower her to bring valuable insights and innovative solutions that will directly contribute to the success of this important community resource.
“I am incredibly grateful to Dr. Trenschel and the entire Onvida Health team for supporting me in this journey,” Dr. Diaz added. “Their belief in my growth and their investment in this fellowship make it possible for me to learn, grow, and ultimately bring back new ideas to continue improving care for our community.”
