When you are scheduled for surgery at Onvida Health, you’ll find that a deep commitment to your safety and delivery of patient- and family-centered care are hallmarks of our surgical services. Our experienced surgeons and surgical teams perform more than 12,000 procedures each year with traditional, minimally invasive (laparoscopic), robotic and laser procedures using the latest technology advances.
Your surgical care starts with education to ensure that you are well-prepared and know what to expect during and after your procedure. We encourage and welcome questions at any time.
We will provide regular updates to your family on your progress during surgery and recovery. Your outpatient surgical procedure may take place in the Outpatient Surgery department or in the main hospital surgical suite.

The main hospital features 10 operating suites, two state-of-the-art hybrid operating rooms as well as four operating suites in Women’s Surgical Services. Our outpatient surgery facilities, including our new Endoscopy Center, provide additional operating suites and procedure rooms. Your immediate post-procedure care takes place in dedicated recovery rooms, or post-anesthesia care units (PACUs), at all surgical facilities. The surgical services we offer include:

Minimally Invasive and Robotic Surgery
The use of camera technologies and other techniques to minimize surgical incisions has transformed surgical care with great benefits for patients. Minimally invasive surgery is now the norm for many procedures and can mean faster healing, less pain and shorter recovery times. You may also have less risk of infection, blood loss and scarring.
The robotic da Vinci Xi Surgical System® at Onvida Health has high-definition 3D vision that enables your surgeon to operate with greater accuracy and control, yielding incredibly magnified images and giving your surgeon a close-up view of the surgery field. The robot stands over the patient while your surgeon skillfully manipulates four robotic arms that can hold numerous instruments or cameras.
