Creating a brighter tomorrow for our community.

Identifying and addressing the health and wellness needs of our community is a big part of what we do.

Every three years, we conduct a Community Health Needs Assessment to get a clear picture of what our community needs. Based on that, we offer various Community Wellness Resources aimed at helping families and local workers live healthier lives.

We’d love for you to check out our wellness programs. And if you’re interested in making a difference, consider volunteering your time and skills to help meet our community’s health needs. We’re really proud of our amazing volunteers who contribute over 70,000 hours each year. There are all sorts of Volunteer Opportunities available, and we’re always excited to welcome new faces to our team.

The Arizona Western Kids Club, presented by Onvida Health, is a program that engages youth with the Matador sports family through games, clinics and fun activities. Designed for children aged 3-12, this free kids club will provide Yuma County kids with access to Arizona Western College (AWC) home games, an exclusive club t-shirt, a membership card and refillable popcorn cup to bring to home games as they cheer for the Matadors. To enroll your children in the kids club, simply complete this registration form.

As a service to the public and healthcare providers in our community, we offer several BLS, ACLS, PALS and First Aid courses taught by instructors certified by the American Heart Association. For information, please call 928-336-1277 or view our upcoming CPR and ACLS/PALS classes here.

Childhood is a critical period of growth, development and learning. Positive health behaviors — like getting enough sleep, eating nutritious foods and being physically active — can help prevent diseases and improve health outcomes for children. This multi-week program teaches kids about the importance of developing healthy habits and lifestyles.

The Healthy Kids program is a fun and interactive virtual, five-week wellness course for children ages 8-12 and their families. The program helps participants develop healthy habits by teaching them to make nutritious food choices, prepare healthy meals, be physically active, and understand and manage their emotions. Best of all, they will learn to make small lifestyle changes that support long-term health and wellness.

Healthy Kids Program Details

Registered participants will receive all materials at the start of the five-week program, which is designed to be completed at their own pace from home. Weekly two-way communication ensures a personalized experience, supporting a successful learning journey. To get the most out of the program, participants are encouraged to engage with the content at least once a week and attend the live learning sessions.

This program is available at no cost to children ages 8 to 12 thanks to the generous donations made to the Foundation of Onvida Health.
