Onvida Health is proud to announce a new partnership with STEDY (Southwest Technical Education District of Yuma) aimed at strengthening healthcare career pathways for local students through hands-on clinical experience and workforce development.
Beginning February 2 through March 12, 2026, Onvida Health will host its inaugural cohort of 10 STEDY students, ages 17 and older, for clinical rotations in Onvida’s Primary Care clinics. The rotations will take place Monday through Thursday from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., pairing students with experienced Medical Assistants to gain real-world exposure to patient care and clinic operations.
“This partnership reflects Onvida Health’s ongoing commitment to growing the future healthcare workforce right here in our community,” said Dr. Kristina Diaz, President of Onvida Health Medical Group. “By investing in students early, we are helping prepare them for meaningful careers while strengthening the pipeline of skilled professionals for our region.”
Established in 2015 following local support for expanded career-focused learning, STEDY is a public career and technical education district that serves high school students across the region by offering tuition-free programs designed to prepare them for in-demand careers and post-secondary success.
“As we celebrate STEDY’s 10-year anniversary and our newly renovated home, this partnership with Onvida Health represents exactly why our district was created—to connect students with meaningful, hands-on experiences that lead to real career opportunities,” said Tom Tyree, Superintendent of STEDY.
The initial cohort will serve as a pilot, with opportunities to expand the partnership and accept additional students in future rotations.
