Their hard work and dedication have not gone unnoticed by the community – the Main Campus Emergency Department has achieved a 4-star rating on Google Reviews, a major leap from 2.2 stars at the start of 2024.
With more than 70,000 visits each year, the Emergency Department has implemented several key changes to enhance care, including:
- Expanded Fast Track hours: provide accelerated care for less severe cases.
- Additional surge shifts: schedules extra team members are when demand is highest.
- Virtual screenings: helps patients get evaluated and treated more quickly.
These advancements have led to shorter overall length of stay times, with the average arrival-to-departure time now under four hours. Emergency rooms of comparable size have a median length of stay time of 4 hours and 9 minutes, while Onvida Health’s median length of stay time is 3 hours and 35 minutes. Pediatric patients receive care even faster, typically within 2 hours and 20 minutes to 2 hours and 40 minutes.
