Care Philosophy

A Yuma native, Dr. Gowan Deckey graduated from Crane School District and Yuma High School, then went to Claremont McKenna College in Claremont, CA and Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, MA. She married her medical school sweetheart, George, and they moved back from the cold to Phoenix for a residency closer to her hometown. After completing her residency training at Phoenix Children’s Hospital in 1993, they returned to Yuma.

Biography

A Yuma native, Dr. Gowan Deckey graduated from Crane School District and Yuma High School, then went to Claremont McKenna College in Claremont, CA and Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, MA. She married her medical school sweetheart, George, and they moved back from the cold to Phoenix for a residency closer to her hometown. After completing her residency training at Phoenix Children’s Hospital in 1993, they returned to Yuma with their new son so she could work at Yuma Pediatrics (now Onvida Health Pediatrics). They now have four children and thoroughly enjoy raising them.
