Your hospitalist specializes in care during your hospital stay.
Providing high-quality, patient-centered care is always our top priority at Onvida Health.
That’s why we offer comprehensive hospitalist programs in primary care, intensive care, neurology, pediatrics, obstetrics and gastroenterology.
Our hospitalists are board-certified and specially trained to understand and coordinate your unique and often complex care needs while hospitalized. They also partner with social workers and case managers to anticipate and address your post-hospital care needs.

FAQs
We have hospitalists specializing in primary care, intensive care (intensivists), neurology, pediatrics, obstetrics (obstetrics laborist) and gastroenterology.
Hospitalists are on-site in the hospital 24 hours a day, seven days a week. If you have a medical emergency or other urgent need, a hospitalist can be at your bedside within minutes.
Your hospitalist physician or advanced practice professional will plan and manage your treatment throughout your inpatient stay. He or she will coordinate your care plan to facilitate a smooth and speedy recovery process by following up on tests and adjusting your care as needed.
Your hospitalist will also work with you and your family to answer and discuss any questions you may have about your illness, medications or care plan.
Your hospitalist will spend extra time learning about you. After admission, he or she will review your medical history and current circumstances. He or she will also review past hospital records and will gather information from you and your family.
Because hospitalists are in the hospital all day, your primary care provider or referring specialist can focus on being available to you and other patients in the office setting, with fewer delays and interruptions. By eliminating the need to go back and forth between the hospital and the office, your primary care provider or referring specialists can devote more time to keeping you and your family healthy outside the hospital.
When you are discharged from the hospital, your hospitalist will recommend that you call your primary care provider or referring specialist to schedule a follow-up appointment. It is important to your health and recovery that you see your doctor after your hospital stay.
As ongoing medical care is essential to keep you healthy, it is important that you establish a relationship with a primary care provider and follow up with him or her. You are encouraged to call the provider of your choice to become established as a new patient and receive follow-up care. Find a Onvida Health provider here.
